Platform stabilization, infrastructure migration, and managed services for a major Canadian non-profit's donation platform

    Plan Canada — Non-Profit · 2024

Azzal Solutions inherited Plan Canada's live Sitecore commerce platform, resolved critical infrastructure instability, and delivered major enhancements including a Sponsor a Child redesign and Azure cloud migration.

    Key Outcome

Platform stabilized after VM migration; Azure cloud migration delivered; donor checkout performance improved

    The Work

    The Challenge

Plan Canada's donation platform was inherited from a previous vendor in a working but unstable state. Running Sitecore in a Kubernetes cluster hosted in a local data centre was producing persistent instability and frequent outages on a platform managing recurring donor subscriptions.

    The Approach

Azzal Solutions took over under a managed services contract. The first project migrated the platform from Kubernetes to hosted VMs. Following that success, a full Azure cloud migration was completed. Key product features delivered included a redesigned Sponsor a Child experience, self-service payment method management, and checkout performance optimisation.

    The Outcome

Outages dropped to near zero after the VM migration. The Azure migration positioned the platform for long-term resilience. The payment self-service feature measurably reduced load on the donor care team.
